About the

Dog Med Laser

Proudly Manufactured in Canada

Journey from Idea, to Research & Testing, to meeting you today!

The Dog Med Laser was developed by Antares Technologies, manufacturer of certified medical PhotoBioModulation lasers for humans, used to reduce inflammation, reduce or eliminate pain and accelerate wound healing.

With more than 15 years of experience in the field, Antares’s management developed a pet version of the human lasers to be used by pet owners to treat their furry companions.

Prior to 2010

Photobiomodulation Therapy

Prior to 2010, Photobiomodulation Therapy was the exclusive prerogative of the medical profession all over the world, for human pain management, reduction of inflammation and acceleration of wound closure. Most protocols called for two weekly treatments. At the time Veterinary clinics were not offering laser therapy.

2010

Laser Therapy Delivers Results

In 2010 WALT (World Association of Laser Therapy) issued a guideline stating that Photobiomodulation Laser therapy applied daily on humans greatly increased efficacy, delivering better and faster results.

2015

Our First Certification

The development of our first Human PBMT Laser specially designed for home-use, certified under the strict human medical equipment regulations, manufactured under ISO 13485 (ISO Medical). This led to the certification of our first home Human laser certification in 2015.

Late in 2017

Extending to Dogs & Cats

While developing the second version of our human home laser device, we asked the question: What about a home PBM Therapy laser for dogs and cats?

November 2018

The Dog Med Laser is Certified for Home Use!

After several rounds of creative development, we discovered a successful way to treat dogs and cats without disturbing their day-to-day life.

Today

Still going strong

Dog Med Laser is still Proudly Manufactured in Canada and shipped across Canada and United States. Dog Med Laser is a true leader in the field. Tested on humans and adopted by pets everywhere.

Laser Therapy Delivers Results

In 2010
WALT (World Association of Laser Therapy) issued a guideline stating that Photobiomodulation Laser therapy applied daily on humans greatly increased efficacy, delivering better and faster results.

However, it was very clear to our team that no medical organization anywhere around the world is geared to treat patients daily for a few minutes be it, for wound closure, reduction of inflammation or temporary reduction or elimination of pain. These conditions are not life threatening and were way, way down on the list of medical staff priorities.

2015

" If one can’t bring patients to daily photobiomodulation therapy, the only solution is to bring photobiomodulation therapy to patients."

This idea became the driving force behind the development of our first Human PBMT Laser specially designed for home use, certified under the strict human medical equipment regulations, manufactured under ISO 13485 (ISO Medical). This led to the certification of our first home Human laser certification in 2015.

Late in 2017

Extending to dogs & cats

Late in 2017 while developing the second version of our human home laser device, we asked the question: What about a home PBM Therapy laser for dogs and cats?

Around the world, manufacturers of class II and  IV human medical PBMT lasers claim that their equipment designed for humans deliver similar results on all animals when they are treated at a Vet clinic. That is partially correct. However, no PBMT laser used by Vets is certified for home-use.

Because we like to think differently, we asked: How can laser therapy be made nice and fun for dogs and cats that hate being taken to the Vet and touched by vet equipment?

The quick answer was, design a device they would like to play with. Easier said than done!It took little time to figure out what Dogs and Cats would love the most: Back scratch! Hence, the two brushes (long and medium hair length).
